LPN to RN Program
¼¯ÃÀÂ鶹 offers an accelerated 18-month, full-time Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree program in nursing for licensed practical nurses (LPNs). The program provides instruction in nursing, liberal arts, and science.
The AAS program operates on a semester system and requires 70 credits for graduation. These consist of 52 program credits completed at ¼¯ÃÀÂ鶹 and 18 advanced credits awarded for LPN licensure.
The academic calendar is divided into three semesters each year, with each semester lasting 15 weeks. The required program of study can be completed in four semesters. Students may extend their studies by carrying a reduced course load. Nursing cohorts are admitted twice annually, in November and April.
Liberal arts and science courses must either precede or be taken concurrently with the corresponding nursing courses. Nursing courses must be taken in the prescribed sequence.
A semester credit hour consists of fifteen 50-minute sessions of classroom instruction, with an expectation of approximately two hours of outside study for each class session.
